Not another boutique art hotel – Hotel Hotel is an intense collaboration of artists, designers, makers and fantasists.
The hotel sits in the Nishi building, arguably one of Australia’s most sustainable buildings, itself nestled within NewActon - Canberra’s arts and culture precinct. It is lakeside; bush-side and a two-minute walk to the city.
Hotel Hotel has 68 rooms. Half of the rooms’ hardwood timber windows open onto the lake and trees, the other half onto the internal atrium populated with ferns from Tasmanian forests destined for clearance. Each one is unique and has taken inspiration from the Australian shack. Restored twentieth century furnishings, objects and original artworks collected over ten years inform each room.
