The music

Programmed by Jessica Cottis, the Fundraising Gala will showcase string and brass players in a series of intimate performances throughout the evening. Repertoire includes works by Debussy, Borodin, Piazzolla, Paul Dukas, Samuel Scheidt and an excerpt from Rimsky-Korsakov’s Scheherazade – a foretaste of the full CSO performance of this masterwork in 2023.

Michael Bublé: Higher tour Valued at $4,000+
Multi-award-winning global superstar Michael Bublé brings his Higher tour to Australia, performing music from his 11th studio album and a selection of his original smash hits and trademark takes on the great classics. Experience the concert in style, with four tickets to the Audi corporate suite at Qudos Bank Arena (9 June 2023, Sydney). Generously donated by Richard Rolfe.

Jamala Wildlife Lodge experience Valued at $2,700
Enjoy a night of excitement and extravagance at the world-renowned Jamala Wildlife Lodge in Canberra. CSO string quartet Valued at $4,000+

Framed original artwork by Dennis Thorncraft
Take home a framed original artwork by Dennis Thorncraft, created through the Painting with Parkinson’s art therapy program and inspired by a live performance by CSO harpist Rowan Phemister. Thorncraft is an accomplished artist currently focused on drawing and watercolours.  He has sold his work to various galleries; his creative output also spans woodwork, stained glass, sand blasting art mirrors and marquetry. Thorncraft joined Painting with Parkinson’s in 2015. This unique and meaningful piece celebrates the power of art and music for community and wellbeing, with a distinctly Canberra flavour. Generously donated by Dennis Thorncraft.
