In 2021, the CSO continues its leading Rediscovering Music program for people with hearing loss, in partnership with the Canberra branch of Better Hearing Australia.
Curated and presented by audiologist and CSO bassoonist Kristen Sutcliffe, each interactive concert supports rehabilitation and fosters a community based on shared experience.

Rediscovering Music engages participants with a small number of related instruments in a mini-concert. Listening skills are practised with the use of familiar music, enabling listeners to really appreciate the instruments and the music. The program is curated by a qualified audiologist to ensure that each concert is tailored to the specific needs of the audience and that the program delivers maximum benefits to all participants.
This first concert will feature Tchaikovsky and the live premiere of Herr Beethoven’s Audiologist, a Vincent Plush commission for solo bassoon composed for the CSO’s Australian Miniseries in 2020.
