As many concert-goers know, our beloved Richard Gill AO was to have conducted this year’s Opera Gala. Until the very end, he held on to the hope that this would be his last performance with the CSO.
“This Opera Gala will be a moving tribute to the great man [Richard Gill]. It will be conducted by the remarkable Jessica Cottis, one of the few conductors who can approach Richard’s unique level of eloquence as both musician and as an advocate for inspirational musical connections.” – Nicholas Milton, Chief Conductor and Artistic Director.
Cottis will be making an earlier appearance with the orchestra in ActewAGL Llewelyn One – a program that will transport you from the wilderness of Tasmania to the rugged landscapes of Scotland.
