On Friday 3rd August, the CSO was happy to celebrate the opening of the “Resonance” exhibition with the Painting with Parkinsons program at the National Botanic Gardens. CSO has been a long-standing partner of Painting with Parkinsons, providing a CSO musician free of charge to play while the community artists paint. Music and art have been shown to relieve the symptoms of Parkinsons and provide positive benefits to sufferers, and the works on show were testament to the creative processes inspired by music and the beautiful surroundings of the Botanic Gardens.
Along with providing musicians to play during the art sessions, CSO and Painting with Parkinsons are excited to be working together on the commissioning of a new piece written in honour of the program. Stay tuned for information about the premiere, which will take place in October!
