What’s New for Canberra?
has recently announced a range of changes to its operations in Canberra since 1 May 2018. These changes provide customers with a new daily travel option, excellent connectivity as well as a greater choice of cabin class.
The new daily flight, SQ288, also sees an upgrade in aircraft to a Boeing 777-300ER.
This change so soon after international flights began in September 2016 demonstrates how successful the route between Canberra and Singapore has been and how committed Singapore Airlines is to the Canberra market.
For the first time Canberran’s have the option of a First Class cabin, a high quality fully-flat Business Class, as well as Premium Economy & Economy Classes.
Customers travelling in First Class, Business Class and Premium Economy on this service can pre-select their main meal from the Book the Cook menu, a range of delicious options specially created by a team of renowned chefs from our International Culinary Panel. Customers can also complement their meal with wines from our Award winning onboard selection. Singapore Airlines recently received honours in 7 of the 14 categories at the Cellars in the Sky awards, including a Gold Medal for Best Overall Cellar.
Singapore Airlines’ KrisWorld inflight entertainment system offers customers more than 1,000 on demand movies, television shows, music albums and games to enjoy during their flight. Customers can also download the SingaporeAir app to discover what is playing before their flight, and create a personal playlist to sync with KrisWorld once onboard. It is also possible for customers to use their synced personal device as a remote control, which means being able to access real time flight information without interrupting the movie*. Selected flights also offer in-flight WiFi so customers can stay connected at 30,000 feet.
The departure time from Canberra has remained at 11.15 pm, with flights arriving in Singapore at 5.15 am the following day, which provides customers with great connections to a range of destinations across South East Asia, India and Subcontinent, North Asia and Europe. The new daily services will return from Singapore to Canberra at 10.30 am for a day time flight transiting via Sydney, where there will be quick stop before continuing onwards to Canberra in the same seat and on the same aircraft.
* SingaporeAir app syncing features are available on select Boeing 777-300ER and Airbus A350 aircraft, as well as new Airbus A380 aircraft.
