Pathways Program
The Kingsland Pathways Program empowers the next generation of music makers and contributes to a flourishing arts community in the nation’s capital.
The program is designed to mentor musicians from primary school through to their tertiary studies. We create pathways that guide young musicians from their first performance to becoming a professional musician, while fostering a lifelong love for the arts.
All musicians in the Kingsland Pathways Program learn the value of working together to enrich the broader arts community. We welcome musicians from across the region and provide the support and specialised training for them to reach their potential right here in Canberra.
The CSO provides opportunities for young musicians aged eight to 19 through our ensembles – the Canberra Symphony Youth Chamber Orchestra (CSYCO), the Kingsland Strings and the Kingsland Brass – and for tertiary students of any orchestral instrument through the Kingsland Fellowship. Our students come from across the public, private and home-educated cohorts, with scholarship assistance available for young musicians facing financial barriers to joining our programs.
If you wish to support the Kingsland Pathways Program, there are two ways you can support our young musicians:
- Sponsor a Kingsland Fellow or Kingsland Youth Ensemble player and follow their journey
- Donate to the Kingsland Pathways Program
