The program is designed to mentor musicians from primary school through to their tertiary studies. We create pathways that guide young musicians from their first performance to becoming a professional musician, while fostering a lifelong love for the arts.
All musicians in the Kingsland Pathways Program learn the value of working together to enrich the broader arts community. We welcome musicians from across the region and provide the support and specialised training for them to reach their potential right here in Canberra.
The CSO provides opportunities for young musicians aged eight to 19 through our string ensembles – the Canberra Symphony Youth Chamber Orchestra (CSYCO) and Kingsland Strings – and for tertiary students of any orchestral instrument through the Kingsland Fellowship. Our students come from across the public, private and home-educated cohorts, with scholarship assistance available for young musicians facing financial barriers to joining our programs.
