It’s a good idea to arrive at least 30 minutes before the concert begins. Allow plenty of time for parking. On arrival, enjoy a drink and grab a copy of the complimentary print program.
Dress up or keep it casual – whatever makes you feel comfortable.
In classical music, silence is important and can heighten the emotional experience. Generally, the audience applauds at the end of a work (not between individual movements). If it’s your first time, take cues from the people around you. Please refrain from talking during the performance.
Program materials are complimentary at all CSO concerts (subject to availability).
Pre-concert talks are a great opportunity to learn more about the music and enhance your experience of the performance. Details of pre-concert talks are posted on the CSO website and included in pre-concert emails in advance of performances.
Generally, concerts in Llewellyn Hall include a 20-minute interval. Concerts in other venues are shorter and run without an interval.
If you arrive late, ushers will admit you to the performance during an appropriate break in the music. Late arrivals may not be seated in their designated seats.
Please respect the performers and fellow concertgoers by turning your mobile phone off or switching it to silent mode, and refraining from using it during performances. Photography and recording of any kind during performances is strictly prohibited.
