Kingsland Brass

A performance enrichment program for enthusiastic brass players aged 12-19. Kingland Brass is an exciting opportunity for young brass players to rehearse and perform alongside CSO Brass musicians Greg Stenning (trumpet) and Bjorn Pfeiffer (tuba). All participants receive specialized training and mentorship in solo and ensemble playing. Kingsland Brass welcomes musicians looking to gain confidence and ensemble experience.
Audition Requirements
Applicants must prepare the following:
- One own choice piece (3-5 minutes).
- Scales in concert pitch for all instruments:
- E Major 2 octaves - played all slurred crotchet = 120
- A flat Major 2 octaves – played all tongued crotchet=120
- Candidates will be required to sight-read.
Eligibility
- Ages 12-19 in 2027.
- Minimum instrument level AMEB grade 5 or equivalent.
Fees
- The participation fee for 2026 is $700 plus GST.
- A limited number of scholarship places will be offered to students facing financial barriers to participation.
Applications close at 5pm on Friday 6 November. Auditions will be scheduled in late November.
