The Canberra Symphony Orchestra is an orchestra doing things differently.
The CSO is committed to ensuring that high-quality music experiences are accessible to every Canberran.
We’re providing pathways through our training programs, ensuring the next generation can learn and grow in a thriving arts ecosystem.
We share music beyond the concert hall through transformative programs, tailored to the needs of our community.
We’re actively shaping the Australian cultural landscape by commissioning new works from composers of all walks of life.
Help us raise $150,000 through our 2023 Tax Appeal. Donations over $2 are tax-deductible; every donation makes a difference.

Our impact since 2020:
We reached 3,250+ people through community programs, including people living with hearing loss, dementia and Parkinson’s disease.
We gave away 400+ concert tickets to charities and community organisations through our HeartStrings program.
Thousands across the region enjoyed free, family-friendly public events, from Symphony in the Park to Christmas performances across the city.
We pivoted our residency into a broader Pathways Program for ages 11 to 24, expanding access to specialised training and mentorship.
We launched the Canberra Symphony Youth Chamber Orchestra to hone skills in individual, chamber and orchestral performance.
We launched the Kingsland Fellowship to upskill tertiary / postgraduate musicians based on their unique artistic goals.
