Jacob Aziz began learning the violin at age five, studying first with Luci McArthur and then Warwick Adeney. As a student at Brisbane Boys’ College, he performed in numerous ensembles and in his final year led the symphony orchestra, string ensemble and string quartet, touring Europe with the latter two. He was also a member of Queensland Youth Orchestras (2020–22) and associate concertmaster of QYO2. More recently, he has participated in the Australian Youth Orchestra’s Young Symphonist program (2023,2024) and National Music Camp (2025, 2026).

As an orchestral and chamber musician, his repertoire includes symphonies by Beethoven, Franck, Dvořák and Rachmaninoff; serenades by Elgar, Tchaikovsky and Dvořák; and quartets by Schubert, Beethoven, Mozart and Borodin.

As a soloist, Jacob has competed in numerous competitions, playing concertos by Sibelius, Mozart and Mendelssohn, and in 2024 he won the Brisbane Boys’ College Solo Competition with a performance of Sarasate’s Zigeunerweisen

He is currently studying for a double degree in Law and Politics, Philosophy and Economics at the Australian National University, where he also plays with the ANU Orchestra.
